An opportunity exists for a newly created position of Chief Sales Officer, who will be responsible for delivering the company sales plan, both in terms of billings and generated revenue. The sales plan will be a combination of growing existing accounts and developing new sales.

The Chief Sales Officer will lead a team of sales, marketing and technical professionals to ensure they deliver the sales plan. The Chief Sales Officer will additionally have their own new sales targets.

The Chief Sales Officer will manage the sales and marketing team by providing commercial support, defining best practice for the company and ensuring appropriate sales and marketing strategies and processes are clearly defined.

The Chief Sales Officer will establish commercial relationships with prospects as necessary and be an escalation point and/or commercial contact for existing customers when necessary.

The Chief Sales Officer will look to maintain executive level relationships with prospects and existing customers, and exert appropriate influence to the favour of atmail.

Key responsibilities:

* Define and build sales and marketing strategies in concert with the Sales and Marketing team members, focussed on the key target market of Telcos, as well as Internet and Hosting Service Providers;

* Define and enforce the sales process for the company, building on the existing sales process;

* Identifying and building key executive relationships of prospects and existing customers;

* Be the primary contact point within atmail to structure commercial contracts;

* Negotiate contracts with prospects (potentially via other sales team members) on behalf of the company;

* Build intelligence on potential sales across the globe, including competitors’ offerings, market pricing and timescales.

* Ensure appropriate commercial standards are incorporated into the practices of the company;

* Apply and ensure compliance with appropriate legal frameworks and operational standards;

* Plan and execute a new sales global growth strategy;

* Represent atmail with a view to close sales opportunities;

* Participate in seminars, conferences and industry presentations which are relevant for atmail and its business;

* Ensure accurate customer records are maintained; and

* Other reasonable duties and responsibilities that the company may require from time to time.

The successful candidate will:

* Hold recognised formal commercial qualifications (Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Commerce, Masters of Business, etc.);

* Bring 15+ years of relevant industry experience (in either the technology, telecommunications or service provider industries);

* Have had exposure to varying business cultures, and participated in global business initiatives;

* Be a thinker who takes pride in their work and can contribute to the success of the atmail environment; and

* (Highly desirable) Have had experience in email server and/or cloud technologies.
