We are seeking to appoint a wireless network engineer to join the Network Engineering team at Cardiff University.

The purpose of the role is to oversee the operation and continued growth of the University's wireless network infrastructure.

The role holders' primary duties will be to support, develop and expand the University's Extreme (formerly Motorola/Zebra) wireless network infrastructure, consisting of more than 3000 wireless access points deployed across campus and throughout the University-owned student accommodation.

The role holder will also provide advice, guidance and troubleshooting, both for the wireless network and the Brocade wired network as required; liaising as required with other internal IT teams and external suppliers as appropriate.

This is an excellent opportunity for development, as the University continues to expand its estate with an ambitious building programme, including plans for a flagship location-aware high-density wireless service in one of the new buildings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of a set of projects in support of the Centre for Student Life Programme at Cardiff University, a rewarding employer with a great offer, to be involved with exciting programmes of change that are eagerly anticipated by the organisation.

This position is full time (35 hours per week) and is Open-ended.

Salary: 32004 - 38183 per annum (Grade 6).

Closing Date: Friday, 2 June 2017
