The preferred candidate will have experience with virtualization, Kubernetes, networking, and related infrastructure background. Additional skills desired include understanding of Agile methods, TDD, CI/CD, platform automation via Ansible, VMWare products (e.g. VMC, Tanzu Grid, vxRails, etc), and AWS infrastructure. As an Infrastructure Engineer, under general supervision, you will participate in an Agile team to develop and enhance low complexity infrastructure solutions from detailed specifications (software installation, maintenance and support, system logs and problem reports, adds, changes, deletes, disk space management, backups, and file restores) through code. Codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those software-defined infrastructure components. Analyzes low to medium complexity technical problems.About the job: Develops efficient, maintainable, defect-free source code that meets operational, security and business requirements while adhering to team standards. Collaborates on development of unit test cases Develops platform and operational scripts Conducts impact analysis Contributes to researching technical alternatives, new technologies, and open sources Interacts with Software Product and Infrastructure teams to gather and define user stories Works with Agile team on development of an MVP and iterative development that delivers a high-quality product Participates in medium-level design activities by analyzing requirements and high-level designs Participates in the production of support documentation Provides functional/system integration testing support. Performs Quality Assurance coding review; defects or discrepancies in requirements identified and resolved with appropriate partners. Collaborates on troubleshooting production issues and performing root cause analysis Identify improvement opportunities. Generally 3+ years of professional experience. Proficient in two or more programming languages (e.g. Python, JavaScript, YAML); knowledgeable in new and emerging technologies. Experience with virtualization, Kubernetes, networking, storage and related infrastructure. General knowledge business function(s) and business operations, as well as IT strategies, and methodologies, including understanding of agile software development concepts and processes. General knowledge of layered systems architectures and understanding of shared software concepts, cloud-based platforms, and development tools. Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery. Negotiation skills; oral and written communication skills. Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker. Consultative skills, including the ability to understand and assist in applying customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements. Collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required.
