Job Summary
Astound Broadband is looking for a Manager, IT Infrastructure Operations that will manage the infrastructure team. This position will provide supervision and technical leadership to the team. We are looking for a knowledgeable technical manager with a passion for learning, running various systems, and an interest in emerging technologies. This role provides technical and tactical expertise to a 24x7 team of dedicated infrastructure engineers focused on maintaining operational stability while reducing risk, and collaborates globally across the organization with a variety of stakeholders from service desk technicians to system architects, and developers. The candidate needs to have strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage, direct and support Operations Infrastructure staff with a focus on team leadership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
Lead weekly meetings and provide regular prioritization of tasks and relaying of project status to the senior team
Manage training and development plans for direct reports
Perform yearly employee progress reviews
Lifecycle management of all computing platforms (AS/400, Windows, Linux) and end-user hardware/software
Virtualization engineer for VMWare 6.x., including performance analysis, trending, load-balancing, IOPS and latency metrics
Knowledge of SANs, Windows Server, Fiber Channel Configurations and NFS administration and troubleshooting
License management across the organization for Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, Anti-Virus, Remote Desktop tools, Audit packages and numerous other support tools
Versatile technologist with knowledge of technology trends able to set technology standards across Astound s IT organization
Microsoft infrastructure knowledge including (Active Directory, Windows Servers, Azure)
Project management of IT Operations projects with focus on scope, schedule and budget delivery
Standardization of all IT processes related to performance monitoring, change management, capacity planning, etc.
Perform periodic rolling application and operation system upgrades
Oversight of 24/7 support and service levels
Special Requirements:
All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and emergencies.
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required to meet operational needs.
Requirements/Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum seven to ten years progressively responsible experience in a IT operations and service delivery position
Extensive background with managing people and multiple projects
PCI compliance knowledge a plus
Qualifications:
Experience with VMWare, SANs, Dell Hardware Chassis/Sleds, Rubrik
Ability to juggle multiple priorities where you are the driving force ensuring completion and on-time delivery.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a clear business relevant manner that is adjusted to the audience; up, down and across the organization.
Independent sound decision making is the skill most used on a daily basis.

Proven ability to rapidly learn new technologies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Good interpersonal, customer support, verbal and technical writing skills; be a self-starter with the ability to achieve deadline-driven priorities.
Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, exhibit professional initiative, self-direction, willingness and ability to document knowledge and share with others is required.
Strong communication skills and creativity as a problem solver is a must.
